記念すべき第１弾は、イギリス出身のダンさんにインタビューしました。

『 新たな出会いがある、便利で静かな環境 』

―――コマドの利用を考えはじめたきっかけを教えてください。

 

2020年の初め頃、COVID-19のパンデミックが始まったとき、在宅勤務が指示され、イギリスの自宅から完全リモートで働き始めました。これにより、どこからでも働くことができると気づき、日本に戻りフリーランサーになることにしました。

自宅での仕事もOKですが、毎日外出して働くことで得られるワークライフバランスが気に入っています。また、プログラマーだけでなく、様々なバックグラウンドの人々と出会い、一緒に働くことにも興味がありました。

さらに、私の家からは車で5分、自転車で20分の距離です。

 

 

―――コマドはどのように知りましたか？

 

イギリス在住時に、篠山に戻ることを決めた際、”Coworking spaces in Tamba Sasayama”とGoogleで検索したところ、トップに出てきたからです。

 

 

―――どのように利用されていますか？

 

私は働いている平日は毎日comadoに来ています。現在のクライアントはイギリスに拠点を置いているので、イギリスのタイムゾーンと一部重なるように働いています。普段はコーディング作業やミーティングをしています。

 

 

―――comadoを選んだ理由は何ですか？気に入った点があれば教えてください。

 

ここは清潔で静か、そして明るく、ビデオ通話にも適しています。

立地が良く駐車場もあり非常に便利で、周辺には昼食を買いに行くお店もたくさんあります。

会員にとっての大きな利点の一つは、遅い時間まで開いていること、キーコードを使って簡単に建物にアクセスできることです。

 

 

―――実際にcomadoを利用してみてどうですか？

 

作業スペースは十分にあり、コミュニケーションがとれる他の利用者がいるのも良いです。ここで過ごした時間の中で、多くの利用者との興味深い出会いがありました。その中には友達になった人もいます。

英語の勉強を手伝ったり、日本語を練習したり、コーディングを学んだり、最新の技術やAIについてのアイデアを共有したりと、他の利用者とのスキルやアイデアを交換することができました。

また、電話で話しても誰も気にしないし、皆が他人を尊重しています。

会議には、別の部屋を利用することもできます。

地元で作業や勉強のための静かな場所や、趣味・工芸に集中する場所が必要な人におすすめです。

 

 

―――最後に今後の目標や、取り組んでいきたいことがあれば教えてください。

 

現在、私は仕事とプライベートのバランスが良いので、新しい仕事を大量に引き受けるつもりはありません。代わりに、クライアントに良い仕事を提供しつつ、コーディング能力を向上させ、新しいスキルを学びたいと考えています。

朝には自由な時間があるので、新しいアプリやウェブサイトの素晴らしいアイデアを思いついたら、それをビジネスにしたり、地域社会に役立てるのもいいでしょう。

■コワーキングスペースってなに？

コワーキングスペースとは様々な年齢や業種の人が一緒に仕事をするスペースのこと。

「コワーキング」は英語にすると「Co（共同で）」＋「Working（仕事をする）」という表記になり、そこに「space(スペース)」がつながり、『共同で仕事をする場所』という意味になります。

Wi-Fiや電源が無制限に使えるのでオフィス代わりに使用することができます。また、利用者同士でコミュニケーションがとれるのも大きな魅力の一つです。

—–Please tell us why you started thinking about introducing Comado.

 

In early 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic began, I was requested to work from home and was working completely remotely from my home in the UK. I then realized that I could work from anywhere, so I decided to return to Japan and become a freelancer.

Working from home is OK, but I love the work-life balance that comes from going out to work every day. I was also interested in meeting and working with people from different backgrounds, not just programmers.

Plus, its only 5 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bicycle from my house.

 

 

—–How did you find out about Comado?

 

When I lived in England, I wanted to go back to Sasayama, so I searched for “Tamba Sasayama Coworking Space” on Google and it came up at the top.

 

 

—–How is it used?

 

I come to Comado for work on weekdays. My current client is based in the UK, so I partially overlap with in the UK timezone. I write code and have technical discussions with my team.

 

 

—–Why did you choose Comado? If you find something you like, please let us know.

 

Clean, quiet, bright and perfect for video calls.

The location is good and there is a parking lot, so it’s very convenient, and there are many shops around where you can buy lunch.

One of the big benefits for members is that Comado is open late and I can easily access the building using a key code.

 

 

—–What do you think after actually using Comado?

 

It’s good to have enough work space and be able to communicate with other users. While I was here, I had many interesting encounters with different people. Some of them became friends.

We were able to exchange skills and ideas with other users, whether it was learning English, practicing Japanese, learning to code, or sharing ideas about the latest technology and AI.

Also, no one minds if you talk on the phone and everyone respects others.

A separate room for meetings is also available if needed.

I recommend Comado to locals who need a quiet place to focus on work, study, hobbies, or crafts.

 

 

—–Finally, please tell us about your future goals or anything you would like to work on.

 

Currently, I have a good balance between work and private life, so I have no plans to take on extra work. Instead, I want to improve my coding abilities and learn new skills while providing great work to my clients.

I have some free time in the morning, so if I have a great idea for a new app or website, I’d like to can turn it into a business or give back to the local community.
